I live far (away) from
They
live far away from one another(他們的住所,相距甚遠)這類說法,是不是英、美用法不同?
Far" is used mainly in
questions and negative sentences. In other kinds of sentences use "a long
long way away)。 They
live far away from one another假如改為They live a long way
away from one another,說起來會自然一點。
Longman
Far"
is used in questions or negatives about distance。 (1)How far is it from here?(離這裏有多遠?)(2)It is not far beyond the church(在教堂那一邊不遠處)。 They live far away from one
留意far字在肯定句子之中,多數和too、as、so等字連用,例如:(1)It is too far away(太遠了)。(2)I moved as far away as
possible(我盡可能遠遠走開)。
